Privacy

This privacy notice explains how I handle information when you read Inkswift Haven, a personal blog written by Yiling from Lorong Ah Soo, Singapore. I am not a company. I do not sell data. I do not run advertising trackers on these pages. The site is static HTML with a small JavaScript file for cookie preferences and map loading.
Who is responsible — Yiling, reachable at [email protected], postal address Blk 128 Lorong Ah Soo, #07-19, Singapore 530128, phone +65 6417 5306. I am the sole operator of this blog.
What this site collects — By default, reading pages here does not require an account or a login. Your browser may store a cookie and a localStorage entry if you interact with the cookie banner. The name of the cookie is sg_reader_consent. A mirror copy may appear in localStorage under reader_consent_v1. These store your choices about functional content (such as embedded Google Maps) and analytics (which remains off on this site). The value is JSON containing essential: true, functional: true or false, analytics: false, a timestamp, and version number v: 1. Retention is about six months (180 days), after which the banner may appear again so you can reconsider.
Google Maps — Pages include an embedded Google Maps iframe centred on the Hougang neighbourhood. When you accept functional cookies, the map loads from Google’s servers and Google may process technical data such as IP address and device information under its own policies. When you reject functional cookies, this site shows a placeholder with a Load map button instead of loading the iframe until you choose otherwise. Read more on cookies.php.
Server logs — The hosting provider may record standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. I do not merge those logs with a marketing database because none exists here.
Email and phone — If you email me or call, I keep your message only as long as needed to read and reply. I do not add you to a mailing list. I do not sell contact details.
Your choices — You can change cookie preferences anytime via the banner, the Customise panel, or Manage cookies on the cookies page. You can clear cookies in your browser settings. You can stop visiting the site.
Children — This blog is written for general readers and is not directed at children. It contains personal reflections, not services for minors.
PDPA (Singapore) — Under the Personal Data Protection Act, you may request access to personal data I hold about you or ask for correction. Contact me using the details above. I will respond within a reasonable time. If you believe I have mishandled data, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore.
Links — This site may link to external pages (for example Google Maps or font providers). Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes — I may update this notice when the site changes. Last updated: 11 August 2026.
No registry identifiers — This notice does not contain business registration numbers because this blog is not a registered business entity.
This is a personal blog. Everything here reflects my own experiences, opinions, memories and impressions from a flat in Lorong Ah Soo. The notes are personal reflections, not professional, medical, legal, financial or news-reporting advice.
Where a note touches a serious event nearby, I only describe what I heard or saw from my own end of the road — never as reporting. I do not speak for anyone else, and I do not claim to know more than I actually noticed that night.
If I have got something wrong — a date, a detail, a name I should not have used — please tell me at [email protected] and I will fix it. I read mail in the late afternoons, SGT.
I wrote this notice in plain language on purpose. If a paragraph is unclear, email me and I will rewrite it.
Summary table for quick reference: Cookie name sg_reader_consent — purpose: store consent choices — duration: about 180 days — essential: yes for storing the choice itself. localStorage reader_consent_v1 — purpose: mirror consent for faster read — duration: until cleared — essential: no, convenience only. Google Maps iframe — purpose: show neighbourhood map — loaded only when functional consent is granted on this site — provider: Google — see cookies page for behaviour when rejected.
I do not use analytics scripts. The analytics toggle exists in the cookie panel for honesty and future-proofing, but it defaults off and nothing fires when off.
If you share my address in a public forum, please do not — the postal address is listed here for legitimate contact, not for aggregation on data broker sites. I may redact excessive personal details from published mail if you write asking for advice that belongs with a professional, not a blogger.
Photographs on this site are static files stored locally under /images/. They do not contain EXIF location tags pointing to private rooms. Alt text describes the image for readers using screen readers.
Schema.org JSON-LD on each page describes the blog and articles for search engines. It includes my name and site URL, not corporate registry fields.
Cross-border transfer: email may route through servers outside Singapore depending on your provider and mine. I choose providers with reasonable security but cannot control every hop.
Security: static sites have smaller attack surface than dynamic apps, but no site is perfectly secure. I keep software dependencies minimal — mostly plain files.
Your responsibility: do not paste secrets in email to me. I cannot secure your mailbox.
Contact for privacy questions: [email protected] with subject line Privacy if you want me to find it quickly.
Lawful basis — I process consent preferences because you choose to store them. I process email you send because you initiate contact. I do not sell or rent personal data because there is no commercial model here.
Data minimisation — The site does not ask for your name, age, or postal code when you browse. Only optional contact channels expose information you voluntarily provide.
Accuracy — If factual details about you appear in an email thread, tell me and I will correct or delete them unless I need a minimal record to answer a follow-up.
Retention of correspondence — Email is kept in an ordinary mailbox without automated profiling. I delete spam and routine acknowledgements periodically. Messages about factual corrections on the blog may stay until the correction is done.
Third-party fonts — Google Fonts may log technical data when CSS is fetched. I load fonts from Google servers for typography; if you block those requests the site falls back to system fonts.
Embedded media policy — Aside from maps, there are no social widgets, comment plugins, or video embeds that track you across sites.
International readers — The blog is written from Singapore and governed in spirit by Singapore privacy expectations, but readers elsewhere may have local rights regarding data held about them if they contact me.
Security incidents — If I become aware of unauthorised access to my mailbox or hosting account, I will post a brief notice here and email affected correspondents where practical.
Automated decision-making — None. No algorithms score visitors.
Updates to this notice — Material changes will change the last updated date above. Minor clarifications may happen without fanfare.
